@BACKGROUND

The START Team has oversight. However, only one Senator has detailed knowledge of the group. Everyone else only over sees budget issues. START employs several security personal and the chief is a minor character.

In addition, the scientist and medical doctors attached to the team are also minor characters. The scientist is responsible among other things for making sure the electronic security systems work properly and are updated when needed. The doctor has a nurse and some paramedics as well as a psychologist.

The security personnel sometimes aid individual members of the group when they are not working together as a team but are instead doing specialized assignments. They do not have special powers but also have access to specail weapons like body armor, A PCs, helicopters, cars and firearms.

They are in great shape. Many are equivalent to Navy SEALS or other special forces in training and level of skill. Some are basically just better trained equilvalents of ssecurity gruards. They just protect the headquarters. There is a high ranking CIA agent who provides oversight of START. He makes reaports to eaeh Senator and helps the START commander get whatever he needs
